Nicholai - Glossy Nicholai pays homage to European drafters of yesteryear. From Germany to Russia, flaxen liver chestnut drafters with feathers were once quite common, but have dwindled in numbers since the introduction of the automobile. Most types still in existence today are of smaller and lighter build, including the German Schleswiger and the remaining types of Russian and Italian heavy drafts. Nicholai is turned out in festive bobs and ribbons of burgundy and hunter green. Glossy finish limited to 75 pieces. Sold exclusively through H & H Winners' Circle.
One of a few that HHWC considers to be extreme variations of this special run is the dark legged version. 15 of this variation exists (I've also heard only 9 exist - maybe only 9 glossy?). These are a variant of the Nicholai run, but the legs are black and the coat is metallic. They have the same marking, a snip on the nose, but are otherwise very different looking from the original Nicholai.
