Shakana Glory

Shakana Glory is a non-registered, flea-bitten Arabian mare who knows how to handle the crowds. Shakana Glory and Natalie Perry have been involved in mounted law enforcement with the Bristol Police Department, Bristol Indiana, for the past four years. They have been certified in mounted law enforcement by attending a 40 hour certification program, training in obstacle, jumping, formation, equitation, and desensitizing. In 2003, they participated in the 20th Annual National Mounted Police Colloquium. This consisted of two days training with the Royal Canadian Mounted Police and London England mounted officers. As part of the Bristol Marshal's Posse, they train throughout the summer months to prepare for duties on busy streets, crowd control, patrolling, and assisting the Marshal. Shakana displays wonderful ground manners and loves the attention she receives by both children and adults while on duty. Yet, when she is called upon to deal with serious issues, she is all business. When not on duty, Shakana loves to go trail riding, is entry level dressage, has worked cattle, and was Champion in Liberty Class in 1999 at the American Dominant Gray World Show. Shakana is a true ambassador for the Arabian breed.
